Interstellar objects are bodies from other star systems passing through ours. Only three have been confirmed: 1I/Oumuamua (2017), 2I/Borisov (2019), and 3I/ATLAS, spotted by the ATLAS sky survey in July 2025. If 3I/ATLAS is 12 billion years old, its original star system may have been consumed by its host star or disrupted long before ours formed.
